Grant Thornton boosts north east team

Catrina McRobbGrant Thornton has appointed a senior manager to its Aberdeen team to support the expansion of its global mobility and employer solutions tax offering in the north east.

Catrina McRobb has more than 15 years’ experience, primarily working with the big four, providing international assignment services to companies on all aspects of global mobility and expatriate tax issues.

Ms McRobb will provide assistance to a wide range of clients, including major oil and gas and food and drink businesses.

Heather Smallwood, tax director in the firm’s Aberdeen office, said: “It’s great to have someone with Catrina’s diverse range of experience on the team.

“We recently moved to the Silver Fin Building in the heart of Aberdeen to accommodate our growing presence in the region and this recent appointment is one of a number of new hires planned in the coming months and years.

“Aberdeen has witnessed challenging economic conditions, but there is a sense that at least optimism is returning to the market, driven by a genuine commitment across industry to rebuild and create a more innovative, dynamic economy focused on long-term sustainable growth.”
