Another BBC presenter is facing an internal investigation over alleged misconduct, this time by disrupting a live broadcast.

Only days after Kaye Adams stepped back from her radio show amid bullying allegations, Andrew Black left a sticker on a pillar displaying the Reporting Scotland News at Seven title.

The programme had been put back half an hour because of football coverage and Mr Black is said to have attached the piece of paper with the number 30 after the title which was visible to viewers.

Mr Black, who is a presenter on Reporting Scotland and on BBC Radio Scotland’s Drivetime, the Sunday Show and Good Morning Scotland, has been off air since the incident last month.

A BBC source told the Scottish Mail on Sunday: “Some viewers or outsiders may see this as a cheeky sign or a joke, but it’s a big no-no in the industry. The studio should not be defaced at all. The worst thing in all this is that it went out on air and was broadcast.

“The bosses were absolutely furious. Nobody found it funny. It is completely unacceptable. Andrew was told the following day he was being taken off air while it was probed.”

BBC Scotland said: “We don’t comment on individuals.”

Ms Adams was taken off her BBC Radio Scotland morning talk show after an allegation against her of bullying.

She has denied the allegations and last week said: “After three of the most distressing weeks of my professional life and seeing my previously untarnished name publicly dragged through the mud, BBC Scotland has still not provided me with any details of the allegations which have been made against me.”

ITV bosses appear to be standing by the presenter as she retained her role as a host on Loose Women and appeared on the popular daytime show on Friday for the first time since her suspension from the BBC.

The BBC last week confirmed that Good Morning Scotland, which has been running for more than 50 years, will end later this month and will be replaced by a new breakfast-time show with new presenters.
