Point of sale payments systems iZettle intends to boost jobs in Edinburgh following its acquisition last year by PayPal.
Stockholm-based iZettle, which in 2016 acquired IntelligentPOS, created in the city by Robin Knox and Paul Walton, wants to expand in Scotland, taking its staff in the capital to more than 100.
iZettle, which was co-founded by Jacob de Geer and Magnus Nilsson, competes with Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey’s Square and Canada’s Shopify in a sector which is flourishing and producing new players.
PayPal bought iZettle for £1.6 billion in May 2018 the night before the Swedish startup had planned to price its shares in an initial public offering.
