Biggest conference for sector
McColl shares tips with industry leaders
Decision makers will converge on Glasgow for what is billed as the biggest event for the sector in Scotland.
Construction Scotland and Construction Scotland Innovation Centre (CSIC) have organised the conference which will enable delegates to assess prospects and share knowledge on new developments..
Mr McColl (pictured) will share his insights on growth through change and innovation. Further speakers will be confirmed shortly.
Key themes include differentiating through innovation, transforming productivity, digitisation and BIM (building information modelling).
Workshops will guide delegates on issues such as public procurement, achieving greater profitability and delivering the Scottish Government’s target of 50,000 homes.
New forms of support to help construction businesses seize new opportunities will be announced at the conference.
Stephen Good, chief executive of Construction Scotland Innovation Centre said: “We’re excited to share some highlights and to engage with a large number of people from across the industry, academia and in the public sector.”
Ed Monaghan, chairman of Construction Scotland Industry Leadership Group, and chief executive of Mactaggart & Mickel Group, is encouraging as many people as possible from the construction industry to sign up for the event.
He said: “In this uncertain time the most important thing you can do is to secure the work you can while improving profitability. Whether you are a small business or a large contractor, our event will share key insights on how to achieve this.”
Andy Outram, director at Turner & Townsend attended the last event. He said: “There were some really thought provoking talks about innovation and how this could benefit construction to make it more productive and profitable.
“Following the conference I joined the CSIC Project Advisory Group and I am now the Industry Lead for the Advanced Construction forum. It’s clear to me that CSIC has the opportunity to reshape many aspects of our industry and I’m delighted to be involved.“
The event takes place at the Glasgow Hilton on 13 September.
