Rangers are being linked to a ‘near €10 million’ bid for French club Amiens’ striker Moussa Konate.

France’s sports paper L’Equipe said the Ligue 1 side “have received a significant offer from Glasgow Rangers”.

The prospect of a move for the striker has raised speculation that Rangers have a deal for Colombian Alfredo Morelos in the pipeline.

It would be Steve Gerrard’s biggest transfer move and the biggest for the Ibrox club since its re-emergence from the financial crisis that engulfed it.

Senegal-born Konate was the subject of interest from English Premier League sides West Ham and Burnley last summer with both teams linked with an £8m move.

Pursuing the forward will test Rangers’s resolve in their attempts to wrestle the Scottish Premier titler from Celtic. The 26-year-old striker is under contract with the Ligue 1 side until 2021.
