Guests gathered for the launch of PR agency Hollicom, including Finance Secretary Derek Mackay and the entrepreneurs Marie Macklin and Lord Haughey.

Founder Mark Hollinshead, who formerly ran the Daily Record and Sunday Mail, announced that the current staff of eight would rise to 20 over the next year and said seven clients were signed up.

“It has been a long-held ambition to work in marketing and strategic communications,” he said.

Hollinshead, who was most recently chief operating officer at Trinity Mirror, has hired a team of media professionals including Erikka Askeland, former business editor at the P&J in Aberdeen.
