West bar and brewery owner Petra Wetzel has revealed plans to open her first outlet in Edinburgh.

Ms Wetzel wants to develop a bar, restaurant, theatre and microbrewery on Market Street, next to Waverley Station.

The  £1 million venture will open in Easter 2018 if it gets backing from Edinburgh City Council.

In the meantime Ms Wetzel will be opening a pop-up version in the building during this year’s Edinburgh Festival.

This follows her  pop-up “West House” in George Street during last year’s event.
