Changes at online service
Wilson steps down in website shake-up
Scottish online media service allmediascotland.com is to stop providing news from the start of next month.
Immediately following its festive break, it will drop regular features such as its daily media briefing, launched two years ago, and instead focus on paid news releases and advertising,
Editor Mike Wilson is stepping down to concentrate on other aspects of the business.
He said: “The site has always had a mix of editorial, including resources to assist media organisations and individuals reflect on their practice, become better at what they do and promote their goods and services to prospective clients.
“However, from January 4, should a media organisation wish to promote its latest initiative on allmediascotland.com, it will have to do so in the shape of a media release.”
Allmediascotland.com was founded in 2003 by Alex Bell and Mike Wilson. For several years, it has been managed by Mike Wilson and digital media consultant, David Rattray, whose shareholding in the company is to increase.
