Wave firm Pelamis bid deadline; BP likely to shed jobs


No key results or announcements scheduled


Administrators KPMG say they have been encouraged by the level of interest shown in Pelamis, the wave energy company. The deadline for bids is 10.30am.

More retail figures are expected as well as data on industrial and manufacturing production. The Scottish internet hosting company Iomart publishes interim figures.  Debenhams holds its agm.


BP is believed to be looking to reduce headcount following the fall in the oil price that may delay or force the cancellation of some projects. Brian Gilvary, finance director, told a Sunday newspaper the company had some flexibility to cope with a price of $70 or $60 a barrel. The company will update the market on its exploration and production plans on Wednesday.

There are half-year results from transport company, Stagecoach and balance of trade figures are also published.


Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct retail chain and the Supergroup fashion chain issue interim figures.


Bellway will give the latest update on the housebuilding sector in an interim management statement.
