One Young CA
Hassan named top young accountant by ICAS
An Edinburgh accountant has been named this year’s One Young CA in a competition organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland. The announcement was made at the CA Summit, ICAS’ digital conference.
Mr Hassan, a restructuring manager at EY, was selected as the overall winner of the Top 100 Young CAs competition because he has demonstrated business excellence and the highest standards of ethical conduct, integrity, and civic and social responsibility.
He will now represent ICAS and the chartered accountancy profession at the One Young World Summit in Munich in April.
The summit brings together inspiring young people, from across the globe, who are committed to making a positive difference.
ICAS chief executive, Bruce Cartwright, said: “Amjad was a stand-out candidate from the outset. He is magnetic, well presented and his passion and pride for being a CA was very evident throughout the whole judging process.”
Mr Hassan graduated as a CA with ICAS in 2018. He said: “Being named ICAS’ One Young CA 2020 means that I can take my advocacy of wellbeing, diversity and inclusiveness in the workplace to next level.”
