New group launched for creatives

AMMO fires starting gun on collaboration

AmmoA new collaborative venture for creatives to share ideas has been created by six of the leading marketing, marketing communications, media and publishing membership bodies.

AMMO – Association of Marketing and Media Organisations – held its inaugural event at Edinburgh’s Gayfield Creative Spaces last week attended by around 150 members of the founding bodies.

Author, broadcaster and journalist, Muriel Gray, was the keynote speaker and was introduced by the former Leith Agency veteran Gerry Farrell.

The founders are: Design Business Association, Marketing Society, Market Research Society, Professional Publishers Association, Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, and the Direct Marketing Association. Jo Scobie of Purple Events in managing the new group.

On its website, AMMO says: “Scotland has a vibrant marketing and media community supported by a wide range of highly regarded and respected professional bodies that promote excellence across all marketing and communication disciplines.

“These professional bodies draw membership from the leading employers based in Scotland; client and agency, suppliers and services, public and private sector, big and small.

“We all share a desire to promote Scotland as a great place to study, work and invest in the industry. AMMO additionally provides an opportunity to support Scotland’s worldwide reputation for creativity and innovation.”
