Empire House: home to 60 new jobs


Customer Experience People will create up to 60 jobs after signing a five-year lease for one floor of Empire House in central Glasgow.

The customer services outsourcing firm is taking 12,242 sq ft of space in the West Nile Street block.

GVA, acting on behalf of the owner George Capital 2 (Glasgow, negotiated the early surrender of the outstanding lease agreement with the previous tenant and agreed the new lease with CXP. The space became available when the previous tenant announced plans to relocate.  

Keith Inch, CXP chairman, said: “This is an exciting time for CXP and acquiring a third office is a sign of our ambitious plans to expand and create new jobs.”

TJ Hughes opens second Scots store

Orion Capital Managers has let the former BHS store at East Kilbride Shopping Centre to TJ Hughes.

The retailer has agreed a 15-year lease for a 31,700 sq ft (2,945 sq m) store.  To date there is only one TJ Hughes in Scotland, in Glasgow city centre, with East Kilbride and two others set to open before Christmas.

Yardi signs Stirling lease

Global real estate technology company, Yardi Systems, has signed a seven-year lease with property developer Bellair (Scotland) to extend its operations in Wallace House, Stirling. 

Yardi moved to Stirling in 2015 when it took on a 1,600 sq. ft. suite and now occupies 2,700 sq. ft. 

Gary Smith, director at Yardi: “We have plans to recruit more staff to accomplish short- and long-terms goals and are delighted to reaffirm our commitment to Wallace House in Stirling.”
