McDonald opens story of female pioneers
An exhibition featuring pioneering women who lived in Edinburgh’s west end opened at St Mary’s Cathedral alongside a display of large glassworks by renowned glass artists Philip Baldwin and Monica Guggisberg.
More than 300 guests attended and were entertained by the Edinburgh Brass Band.
Former BBC broadcaster Sheena McDonald opened the event which was also attended by her husband and fellow retired BBC broadcaster Alan Little.
The exhibition, which is open throughout August, tells the stories of women who were involved in late nineteenth and early twentieth century developments in education and social welfare.
