Successor to Hay
Grant named new managing partner at RSM
Mr Grant has been with the business for more than 20 years and has acted for a range of public and private companies.
He has also held key leadership roles at RSM including head of corporate finance, before establishing the corporate finance practice in Aberdeen.
Mr Grant is currently RSM’s head of corporate finance in Scotland and chairman of RSM International transactional advisory group.
RSM has already strengthened its tax services across Scotland. Shirley McIntosh, who has worked closely with Stephen Hay for 20 years, has taken over as head of tax in Scotland. In Edinburgh, she was recently joined by partner Ross Stupart from KPMG.
Alex Tait, regional managing partner for Scotland at RSM, said: “The growth of the Edinburgh office is testimony to Stephen’s leadership and the talented team we have in place.
“We wish Stephen all the best for his retirement and thank him for his contribution to the Edinburgh office and the role he played in our strategic growth.
“I look forward to working with Ewan to drive our strategic growth plans. As a leading professional in the market, and one who has led a wide range of high level leadership roles, he’s a perfect fit for managing partner, and is well placed to build on the success of the office and wider region.”
Mr Grant said: “It’s an honour to take on the role of the office managing partner in my hometown.
“In my time at RSM I’ve seen the business grow in size, expertise, capability and geographic reach both in the UK and internationally.
“Our ambition to become first choice advisers to middle market businesses remains, which makes it an exciting place to be as we continue to invest in key areas and expertise to further enhance our offering.
“We have a strong, dynamic team in place, and I look forward to working together with them to shape our future firm.”
