Ashley pursuing further Rangers legal claim

Mike Ashley Sky vidMike Ashley, the Sports Direct tycoon, is hoping to pursue further legal action against Rangers as the long-running merchandising battle looks set to return to the courts.

An action raised against Ibrox chairman Dave King and director Paul Murray has been lodged at the Chancery Division of the High Court of Justice.

The hearing scheduled to take place in London over 1 and 2 December. In the meantime,  Rangers have taken steps to stop Sports Direct selling its kit.

These latest moves follow the club’s decision terminate a retail agreement that Sports Direct held with former Rangers chief executive Charles Green.

Mr Ashley objected to Mr King tearing up that deal which required a seven year notice.
