Speirs Gumley to open office in Edinburgh

Lorraine MacdonaldOne of the country’s largest property management companies, Speirs Gumley, opening an office in Edinburgh at the end of the month.

The company currently manages almost 27,000 commercial and residential units in more than 750 developments across Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Lanarkshire.

It will open an office in Q Court in Quality Street, Davidson’s Mains, creating five jobs.

The company has managed a number of well-known buildings including The Beresford on Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street,  the listed Wellpark Enterprise Centre, owned by the Glasgow Building Preservation Trust and The Merchant Building commercial Offices in Glasgow’s George Square.

It has delivered a 30% increase in profits in the last two years which has been invested in IT and increasing staff from 64 to 70.

Lorraine MacDonald, senior partner (pictured), said: “Our Glasgow office is busier than ever, and with confidence returning to the property sector, we really believe that this is the right time for the company to expand.

“We already have 1,400 properties on our books across the capital, and we expect this to grow to 2,000 within a year.   Having a physical presence in Edinburgh will allow us to build significantly on our offering in the east.”
