First non-family director at DJ Alexander

Rob TrotterRob Trotter, head of business development at DJ Alexander Lettings, has been promoted to the new post of associate director.

He is he first employee outside the Alexander family to be given a director’s position in the company.

Raised on a farm in Easter Ross and educated at Dingwall Academy, he left the University of Aberdeen with a degree in agricultural business management, after which he spent five years as an agricultural trader, mainly in Angus.

Thirteen years ago he decided on a complete change of career and joined DJ Alexander in Edinburgh as a lettings negotiator, rising by degree to senior lettings negotiator prior to being appointed head of business development.

He described his elevation as an “an important milestone for the firm”. He has played a significant role in growing the firm’s client base, which was also boosted at the end of last year by the acquisition of two other rental companies, Edinburgh-based EPM, and Regimental Properties of Musselburgh.
