Editor seeks change of direction

Northrop to step down from top role at Insider

Alasdair NorthropAlasdair Northrop, editor of Scottish Business Insider, has decided to step down from the role after 15 years at the helm.

Apart from editing the Trinity Mirror-owned magazine he has become a familiar figure on business breakfast and black tie circuit, presenting at seminars and the many awards events organised by the company.

His career started as a sub-reporter on the Marlborough Times in 1978. He was Business Journalist of the Year title in the BT Regional Press and Broadcast awards in 1996.

> Victoria Masterson, a freelance writer, is joining the business desk at The Herald which yesterday announced that a further 25 jobs will be axed.
