Companies to expand worldwide

Dallas firm acquires Aberdeen based Wireline

WirelineAberdeen oil and gas firm Wireline Engineering has been acquired for an undisclosed sum by a Texan company in a deal aimed at forging a transatlantic partnership serving clients around the world.

The senior management team of Wireline, including directors Alan Gordon, Alistair Inglis and Don Mitchell, are joining Dallas-based Impact Selector following the acquisition. The two companies will have 80 employees and will operate in the main oil regions around the world.

Alan Gordon, managing director of Wireline Engineering, said: “It is highly unusual when two companies come together for there to be such a complementary fit – both in terms of their current organisation and future strategy.”

Impact Selector is owned by its management team in partnership with Turnbridge Capital which provided additional funding for the deal along with Amegy Bank.  Todd Tomlin, a Turnbridge partner, said the combination of the two companies accelerates their growth strategies.

“We are very excited about the product and market strengths now resident in the combined company,” he said.

Johnston Carmichael served as financial adviser to Wireline Engineering, and Pinsent Masons provided legal counsel.  Burness Paull and Jones Day are legal counsel to Impact Selector. The transaction was completed on June 30.
