New female director for Standard Life
Standard Life has appointed insurance industry veteran Isabel Hudson to its board which means a quarter of the directors are now women.
Hudson, whose career includes 12 years at Royal London and two as head of European Development and operations at Lloyd’s of London, will be paid £71,400 and holds no shares in the company.
She was latterly chief executive of Synesis Life and a with-profits committee member of Standard Life Assurance from 2009 to 2012. Her former roles include remuneration committee chairman for the Pensions Regulator.
Hudson, whose post at Standard Life begins today, currently sits on the boards of Phoenix, QBE Insurance and the National House Building Council and she is due to take up a further non-executive role at BT Group next month.
She is one of three women on the Standard Life board and will join its audit committee and the risk and capital committee.
