The Premier League has long been a melting pot of international stars who have left an indelible mark on the game.  

From big goals in title races to breaking records from the moment they arrive on foreign shores, international players have redefined what it means to excel in England’s top flight.  

Here, we celebrate some of the greatest foreign goal scorers in Premier League history, players whose names are synonymous with brilliance, consistency, and unforgettable moments. 

Erling Haaland 

Few players have taken the Premier League by storm as quickly as Erling Haaland. Arriving at Manchester City in the summer of 2022, the Norwegian forward shattered the single-season goal record with 36 strikes in his debut campaign.  

The Norwegian is blessed with physicality, pace, and lethal finishing, with Haaland already establishing himself as one of the league’s most feared attackers. The City star could well win a third successive Golden Boot if he continues to find the back of the net this term.  

Mohamed Salah 

Liverpool’s ‘Egyptian King’, Mohamed Salah has redefined consistency in the Premier League. Since returning to the league in 2017 after a spell at Chelsea, the winger has delivered season after season of goals, including a record-breaking 32-goal campaign in 2017-18.  

A three-time Golden Boot winner, Salah became the eighth-highest goal scorer in Premier League history this season, and will be chasing down the next man on this list to be remembered as one of the greatest ever to grace Anfield.  

Thierry Henry 

Arguably the Premier League’s greatest-ever foreign player, Thierry Henry’s brilliance for Arsenal redefined what a striker could be.  

The Frenchman scored 175 goals in the competition, dazzling fans with his elegance, speed, and creativity. As the focal point of Arsenal’s Invincibles in 2003-04, Henry’s legacy as one of football’s all-time greats is cemented. 

After leaving north London for Barcelona in 2007, where he won his first Champions League, Henry returned to his spiritual home to bow out from the Premier League as a legend.  

Sergio Aguero 

When it comes to iconic Premier League moments, few can rival Sergio Aguero’s last-gasp goal to win the 2011-12 title for Manchester City.  

In a decade-long career at the Etihad Stadium, the Argentine striker amassed 184 league goals, becoming City’s all-time leading scorer.  

His knack for being in the right place at the right time made him one of the league’s most reliable and prolific forwards, even with his injury record that prevented him from doing even more. 

Luis Suarez 

During his time at Liverpool, Luis Suarez produced moments of breathtaking brilliance that are still talked about today. ‘El Pistolero’ scored 69 league goals in just 110 appearances, with his 2013-14 season standing out as one of the best individual campaigns in Premier League history.  

Suarez would carry a side on his shoulders and drag them through a title race that went to the final day under Brendan Rodgers. The Uruguayan scored some of the most inventive goals many at Anfield had ever seen – a genius.  

Didier Drogba 

Didier Drogba was more than just a goal scorer; he was a big-game player who delivered when it mattered most.  

The Ivorian forward scored 104 Premier League goals for Chelsea across two spells, with many of those strikes coming in crucial moments.  

Renowned for his physical dominance and ability to score spectacular goals, Drogba’s impact on Chelsea’s golden era is immeasurable, with his most memorable moment in Blue arriving in the 2012 Champions League final against Bayern.
