Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen is opening its first standalone IWC boutique in Scotland.

The store will occupy a site on the corner of Princes Street and Frederick Street in Edinburgh, currently occupied by souvenir shop Royal House of Scotland, and will be seen as a further sign of the street’s continuing appeal as a prime retail destination for luxury brands.

The collection includes the Pilot’s Watches, Portugieser, Portofino and Ingenieu.

“Edinburgh is a vibrant city with a rich cultural heritage, and we’re delighted to open our doors here,” said Grant Wilson, brand director of IWC UK. “We look forward to welcoming clients to this new space and sharing our passion for watchmaking.”

The company has a partnership with Chisholm Hunter whose retail director Max Brown said: “This marks another exciting step in our journey with IWC.

“I’m incredibly grateful to the everyone at Chisholm Hunter and IWC who brought their creativity and dedication to this project – they’ve excelled from start to finish.”

IWC has a partnership with the new movie release, F1, starring Brad Pitt, as one of the official sponsors of APXGP, the fictional 11th team on the grid.

Since 2013, IWC Schaffhausen has been the “Official Engineering Partner” of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team. Ambassadors include F1 Drivers George Russell, Kimi Antonelli and Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff.
