Rangers handed tough tie against Panathinaikos

Rangers have been handed a tough draw against Panathinaikos in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.
The Ibrox side, who were seeded, will be at home for the first leg on 22/23 July in what will be new head coach Russell Martin’s first competitive game in charge.
The return leg will take place in Athens the following week.
Panathinaikos finished 16 points behind Olympiakos in the Greek Super League last season.
Should Rangers progress, they will face a further two rounds to qualify for the league stage of the tournament.
Hibs, meanwhile, will face Danish outfit Midtjylland in the Europa League second qualifying round.
David Gray’s side will be away for the first leg on 24 July, with the return seven days later at Easter Road.
Dundee United, seeded for their Europa Conference League second round draw, take on UNA Strassen of Luxembourg.
Jim Goodwin’s Tangerines will be at home for the first leg against opponents playing just their second-ever European tie.
They were defeated 5-0 on aggregate to Kuopion Palloseura of Finland in last season’s Conference League first qualifying round.

Panathinaikos is a tough team. This is a difficult draw for us.
