Andrew Morrison has sold his advisory firm Business Sale Basecamp just a year after setting it up.

Entrepreneur and seasoned business leader Campbell Fraser has acquired the company that helps business owners prepare for sale or investment.

Mr Morrison set up Business Sale Basecamp by drawing on his own experience of scaling and successfully exiting AM Bid in 2023.

He created a platform to guide others through the often complex process of preparing for a transaction. He will remain with the company in a consultancy role while also focusing on his new position as sirector of bids at Stellar Omada, where he brings his extensive expertise in bidding and procurement.

Mr Fraser approached Mr Morrison early this year following his own exit from SoConnect, an IT managed service provider which he founded and grew to a turnover of £6 million and EBITDA of £1m.

The sale of SoConnect to private equity-backed Air IT completed in April last year, after a well-planned two-year exit strategy during which Mr Fraser transitioned from CEO to executive chair to manage the sale process.

He is looking to develop the platform to support businesses across the UK through consultants who all have previous hands on experience of founding, scaling and successfully exiting businesses.

Mr Fraser commented: “I’m excited to take the reins at Business Sale Basecamp and build on the excellent foundation Andrew has created.

“With ongoing uncertainty around Business Relief, Inheritance Tax, and Capital Gains Tax, it’s never been more important for business owners to plan their exits strategically rather than opportunistically.

“We’re also seeing a growing need for well-structured succession planning, particularly in private and family-run businesses. Our mission is to ensure owners are fully prepared and positioned to maximise value when the time comes.”

Mr Morrison commented: “Campbell Fraser is the ideal person to take Business Sale Basecamp forward and I look forward to working with him during the transition period.

“Having now started and sold two businesses, I can highly recommend the satisfaction and freedom that comes to business owners who successfully achieve a business sale.

“In addition to my part-time role as director of dids at Stellar Omada, I will now be re-entering the bid world as an external consultant. I am also likely to take on a couple of interesting non-executive director roles in the coming months.”
