Scotland-based RSP Consulting Engineers has been acquired by the UK arm of German construction and real estate construction and property consultancy Drees & Sommer.

The deal will add 60 employees to the buyer’s team, increasing the workforce to more than 300 across 12 UK offices. It follows its acquisition of Northern Ireland consultant Johnston Houston last September.

RSP, which has been in business since 1987, has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and London. It will operate as “RSP Consulting Engineers – Part of Drees & Sommer” under the leadership of the current management team, before rebranding to Drees & Sommer.

Graeme Fraser, partner at RSP, said: “This merger is a monumental opportunity for RSP and our team. By joining the Drees & Sommer UK team, we are poised to leverage their extensive resources and global expertise to elevate our service offerings.

“Our employees, who are the backbone of our success, will have access to unparalleled career development opportunities and the chance to work on groundbreaking projects.

“We are excited about the future and the transformative potential this partnership brings.”

Kenneth Wood, UK managing director and partner at Drees & Sommer, said: “The acquisition of RSP is a transformative step for Drees & Sommer in the UK. This merger not only strengthens our market position but also significantly enhances our service offerings.”
