Bollywood actor gets role in Scottish spirits firm

Bollywood actor and investor Vivek Anand Oberoi has taken a 21% stake in Edinburgh-based Rutland Square Spirits and will become its chairman.
Nishant Sharma and Veenu Sharma, owners of Rutland Square Spirits, say the investment will be followed by £150m from local and international investors in the coming months.
This will support the brand’s global expansion, including the development of a luxury hotel in Edinburgh, alongside other ‘net zero’ ventures.
The proposed property would have Scotland’s first Ayurvedic wellness centre, as well as being the first hotel in Europe with hydrogen-powered facilities.
Mr Oberoi launched his first tech start-up at just 19 and has been involved in setting up others in technology, media and entertainment, property and jewellery.
