Legal and property businessman Rob Aberdein has been appointed group managing director of Simpson & Marwick which he had acquired in 2020 through his Moray Group.

Two years later Moray itselfwas acquired by private-equity backed professional services firm Progeny where Mr Aberdein spent three years as chief commercial officer.

In 2023 the Simpson & Marwick estate agency business was sold to Sean Nicol and Gary Wales.

Mr Aberdein said: “Simpson & Marwick is a name that carries enormous respect in the Scottish legal and property sectors, and I am thrilled to be able to commit full time to building the business.”
