Edinburgh IT firm Purview in £5m Aussie deal

Purview is building a company with global reach

An IT managed services company headquartered in Edinburgh has acquired an Australian business in a deal worth more than £5 million.

Purview Consultancy Services, whose range of products includes AI-powered smart glasses for the visually impaired and deaf, said the acquisition of EDF Systems will enhance its ability to support major datacentres.

It also positions the company to deliver advanced IT solutions to a broader client base in Australia and beyond.

Purview has a UK turnover of approximately £11 million. The integration will add 52 professionals to its team of 1,200 permanent employees, 250+ contractors, and temporary workers in 21 countries. About 70 are in Edinburgh, along with 30 contractors.

HSBC provided a £1.8 million package for the deal, with the remaining finance coming from a combination of company funds and personal investments.

Reddy Punna, founder and CEO of Purview Services, commented: “This marks a transformative chapter in Purview’s journey of global growth.

“The acquisition of EDF Systems aligns with our vision to provide unparalleled IT solutions and infrastructure across continents. HSBC UK’s support has been instrumental in enabling us to extend our reach and infrastructure to work with large-scale data centres in Australia.

“This milestone reinforces Purview’s position as a trusted partner for some of the world’s largest corporations.”

Coenraad Horn, Relationship Manager at HSBC UK, added: “We are proud to continue supporting Purview in its impressive global expansion.

“Having worked with the company since its inception in 2010, it is rewarding to witness their growth and commitment to delivering exceptional IT services to leading organisations worldwide. This acquisition is a testament to Purview’s vision and the strength of our partnership.”

The Commonwealth Bank provided advisory support for the deal.
