Scottish catering firm Entier has been acquired by US food services company Aramark for an undisclosed sum.

Entier, based in Westhill near Aberdeen, was founded by chef Peter Bruce in 2008, employs about 700 across the UK and overseas and had a turnover in 2023 of just under £77 million.

It was awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2016 and serves 2.4 million meals a year.

It has catered for events such as the Ryder Cup and the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

It is reported that Philadelphia-based Aramark, which had a turnover of £14 billion in 2024, has acquired a 75% holding in Entier.

Aramark was founded in the 1930s and began as a vending machine company.

It moved into the UK North Sea market in 2013 when it secured a five-year deal worth £33m ($41m) from French firm Total.
