Safety deal
Arnold Clark acquires alarm firm Pick Protection

Car dealer Arnold Clark has acquired Pick Protection, the personal alarm developed by entrepreneur Rebecca Pick.
The group has been involved in extensive work to develop the platform system and offering and Pick Protection will work alongside its Assure Alarms team.
Ms Pick created the wearable, personal alarm 10 years ago while a student at Strathclyde University after hearing of an assault on a woman who lived in her block of flats. It has grown popular among employees in high-risk situations.
The PG Smart combines a phone app with a Bluetooth trigger button, which connects the user to Pick’s Alarm Receiving Centre within six seconds, which can then prompt a police response to an exact GPS location.
She said: ‘We’ve now grown to provide a wide range of solutions. Our focus on ensuring high levels of user adoption allows us to build and maintain strong relationships with our customers
“We still treat every customer, no matter their size, as a valued member of the Pick Protection community.
“We’re looking forward to working alongside the various teams in the Arnold Clark Group and are very excited to see what the future brings.”
Terms of the deal with Arnold Clark were not disclosed.
