Former Redrow chair takes same role at Miller Homes

Former Redrow chairman Richard Akers has taken the same role at Edinburgh-based Miller Homes.
Mr Akers is currently a senior independent director at Shaftesbury Capital and was the chair of Redrow until its merger with Barratt Developments, completed in October last year.
He has spent his career in the property and land acquisition industry, including 20 years with Land Securities, and another nearly ten years in non-executive director roles with Barratt Developments.
He takes over from Chris Endsor, who retires after a 45-year career, over half of which was with Miller Homes, which included time as CEO and later as chairman.
Mr Akers has also served as a non-executive director for Unite Group and EMAAR Malls in Dubai, and sat on the advisory board for the Battersea Power Station development.
