Ford gets starring role in whisky campaign
Hollywood actor Harrison Ford is known for his love of Scotch whisky and now he’s fronting a campaign for one of Scotland’s best-known brands.
Ford’s latest role is in Once Upon a Time in Scotland, directed by actor and film-maker Joel Edgerton.
It showcases the actors experience as he journeys to Glenmorangie Distillery, featuring some of staff “co-stars”.
Caspar MacRae, president & CEO of The Glenmorangie Company, said: “Harrison Ford is a true global icon and genuine whisky lover.
“Collaborating with him was a dream come true. We hope whisky lovers around the world will enjoy exploring the episodes and learning more about our whiskies through Harrison’s eyes.”
Ford added: “I loved working with the team at the Distillery. The filming was full of unanticipated joys and little unexpected moments. Joel has produced something charming, unpretentious, and amusing.”
The actor’s film characters have often been seen drinking whisky, including Rick Deckard in Blade Runner, who drinks Johnnie Walker Black Label.
Ford, 82, said he was influenced by his father, who also drank whisky. “I started drinking it after college and started enjoying the varieties and the breadth of the Scotch experience.”
