MHB Consultants has appointed Fergus Aitchison as managing director, with founder, Hendrie Barbour, becoming chairman of the civil engineering firm he established in 2006.

A chartered civil engineer with experience at Arup and Apollo, Mr Aitchison joined MHB
in 2015 as an associate and became a director and member of the board in 2018.

Mr Aitchison said: “It’s been a privilege to have witnessed first-hand the fantastic growth of the business over the last decade under Hendrie’s outstanding leadership and a true honour for me to now step into the managing director role.

“Being a fully employee-owned business has allowed our workforce to become engaged and
feel empowered in the direction of the business. I look forward to working with all my co-
owners in building a company of lasting value.”
