Tanker drivers call off strike at Edinburgh Airport

Christmas and new year travellers have been spared disruption after a planned strike by fuel tanker drivers at Edinburgh Airport was called off.
A 19-day walk-out from 18 December was planned by tanker drivers working for refuelling-firm North Air after rejecting a 4.5% pay offer.
A North Air spokesperson said: “We are pleased to confirm that we have reached an agreement with Unite on pay and that the planned strike at Edinburgh Airport has been called off.”
North Air employs 57 workers at the airport and, of these, 46 are deal with refuelling and vehicle movements.
An Edinburgh Airport spokesman said: “We’re pleased that Unite and North Air have reached an agreement.”
