Avant buys housing land close to BioQuarter
Scottish housebuilder Avant Homes has acquired a 20-acre site at the Edmonstone Estate for 312 homes as part of the Edmonstone scheme neighbouring the Edinburgh BioQuarter.
The scheme, which has been masterplanned by Alba Developments, will see more than 700 homes for the area across the 68-acre former Edmonstone House and Estate.
The Lanes at Edmonstone Estate is a £71m development forming the first phase of the development. The housebuilder has also committed to a community contribution of more than £1.8m to support education provision.
The first homes are estimated to be ready for occupation by autumn 2022.
The Stirling-based company has 13 developments under construction from Stewarton to Dundee.
