Free conference tackles hospitality concerns

Restaurant, bars and hotels are under pressure

A free one-day online conference will take place next week on the challenges facing the hospitality industry.

The Institute of Hospitality, Scotland Branch supported by Scottish Business Network, will deliver the event on 25 November.

It will comprise talks, interviews and panel discussions involving speakers from industry in Scotland, the UK and around the world.

Those confirmed include Gordon McIntyre, Hospitality Health and City of Glasgow College; Chris Wayne-Wills, Crerar Hotels; David Cochrane, HIT Scotland ;and Craig Leith, Robert Gordon University.

Gordon MacKintosh: sharing experiences

Gordon MacKintosh, chairman of the Institute of Hospitality Scotland Branch, stated: “The goal of the conference is to share experience, strategies, insights, innovations and challenges so that together, we can weather the current storm and plan for the future.”

SBN chairman, Russell Dalgleish added: “Part of our ethos at SBN is to identify collaborative opportunities; hence our eagerness to be involved in the delivery of this conference.

“I was impressed by the Institute’s approach not to simply focus on the issues the sector currently faces in Scotland, but to look at how, through supporting each other, we can look to the future.”
