Rangers’ reward for defeating Galatasaray in the Europa League play-off is a tough group which includes Portuguese side Benfica.
Celtic, who defeated Sarajevo to make the group phase, have also been drawn in a difficult section involving AC Milan.
Rangers’ other Group D opponents are Standard Liege of Belgium and Poles Lech Posnan.
As well as the Italian giants, Celtic’s will come up against Sparta Prague and French outfit Lille in Group H.
The first matches are scheduled for Thursday 22 October, with the last series of group games set for 10 December.
Arsenal will take on Dundalk, Rapid Vienna and Molde, while Tottenham have been draw alongside Ludogorets, LASK and Royal Antwerp.
Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City take on Braga, AEK Athens and Zorya Luhansk of Ukraine.
