Gillies leaves SSE board, replaced by Cocker
Crawford Gillies has confirmed he will step down from the SSE board on 30 September after five years service and his role as senior independent director by Tony Cocker.
Mr Gillies, pictured, joined SSE as a non-executive director in June 2015 and has played a key role on the audit, nomination, remuneration and energy markets risk committees.
Mr Cocker joined the SSE board as a non-executive director in May 2018. He has a wealth of experience in energy and utilities both through his executive career with Powergen and EON, and more recently as chairman of Affinity Water and Infinis. He currently chairs SSE’s energy markets risk committee.
After Mr Gillies’s departure, the board of SSE will comprise the chairman, three executive directors and seven non-executive directors.
