Two directors for KPMG amid 84 promotions

KPMG has appointed Katie Aghabala, as director of indirect tax based in Edinburgh and Chris Malloch as deal advisory director in Glasgow.
They are among 84 promotions across its five Scottish offices, 51 employ to assistant manager grade, 17 to manager and 14 to senior manager.
Across the UK, KPMG has made a number of senior promotions, including the appointment of 49 partners and 196 directors.
Fifty percent of staff promoted to partner are female, an increase of 14 percentage points on last year’s figures, while 15% of those promoted are from a BAME background, an increase of five percentage points. In addition 48% of external hires are female and 10% are from a BAME background.
The firm has confirmed that as part of a cost-cutting drive it intends moving its market and sales team from Canary Wharf to Reading.
It is also reviewing the future of its five-store private members’ club in London’s Mayfair which opened just four years ago.
