Progress at law firm
MacRoberts secures new clients as profits rise 12%
Neil Kennedy: ‘hard work’
Commercial law firm MacRoberts has won a number of new clients as it reports a 12% rise in profits and a 4% rise in turnover.
This was against a backdrop of continued investment in people, technology, flexible working practices and fairer remuneration structures.
MacRoberts more than doubled its non-partner bonuses (including a firm wide bonus for every member of staff).
It has joined the panels of legal advisers acting for housebuilder Cala Homes and construction group Robertson.
It also secured all six lots on the Scottish Government legal services framework following its appointment to the Crown commercial services framework in 2018, which covers the whole UK public sector.
The corporate finance team enjoyed a record year, acting in 123 deals worth in excess of £600 million.
Neil Kennedy, managing partner, said: “Our recent tender wins and pleasing financial performance is testament to the hard work by everyone at MacRoberts.”
Laura Wilson, director of business development & marketing, said: “We invested in overhauling our bid processes and methodology. The legal services market is highly competitive.”
