Legal hires at Clyde & Co and Gillespie Macandrew
Law firm Clyde & Co has appointed Stefanie Johnston as a Glasgow-based Partner in its global marine and insurance teams.
Ms Johnston, pictured, joins as a partner from Keoghs where she helped establish its Scottish presence and started up a dedicated UK wide marine practice as well as undertaking marine construction, regulatory and insurance work.
She will establish and build Clyde & Co’s marine presence in Scotland working closely with marine colleagues in the UK and globally. She will also further strengthen its commercial litigation practice and work with its insurance teams.
Ms Johnston is a dual-qualified commercial dispute lawyer, having established her career at Hill Dickinson at its English offices before moving home north of the border.
Gillespie Macandrew, has appointed Karen Wooton as legal director in its Glasgow office.
She has 18 years’ experience in the private client and tax sector and will lead this arm of the firm’s business in the West.
The appointment follows the firm’s acquisition of Clyde & Co’s private client team last month and the transfer of Denton’s housebuilder team to the Glasgow office earlier in the year. The firm moved to new, expanded Glasgow premises in February.
