Rox to open jewellery concept aimed at next-gen shoppers

Jewellery company Rox is opening a concept boutique which aims to appeal to the next generation of ‘experiential’ shoppers.

Initial works have have begun on restoring its original 900 sq ft boutique in Glasgow’s Argyll Arcade, with the new store expected to open in mid-November.

Founded in 2002 by entrepreneurs Grant Mitchell and Kyron Keogh, Rox now has stores in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Leeds and Newcastle and another will open in Liverpool in November.

Commenting on the new investment in Glasgow, Mr Keogh, managing director, said: “Buying habits have changed and consumers are shopping in a completely different way to how they did 10 years ago, especially in the luxury sector.  

“The new store will be quintessentially Rox but we also know we must appeal to a new generation of luxury shopper that has grown up in the digital era and live their life at the forefront of fashion. 

“For us this project is all about redefining the brand-consumer relationship.”

The Argyll Arcade is one of Europe’s oldest covered shopping arcades and Scotland’s first ever indoor shopping mall. The L-shaped arcade was built in 1827 to provide a link between Argyle Street and Buchanan Street.  It hosts more than 30 jewellers and diamond merchants all under one roof.
