Head of audit hired at Johnston Carmichael
Scottish accountancy and business advisory firm, Johnston Carmichael, has appointed a head of audit and assurance as part of leadership changes designed to support its succession plans.
Graham Marjoribanks, who has more than 15 years experience in audit and financial services across the UK and in Canada, joins as partner and will be based out of the firm’s Glasgow office.
Originally from Falkirk, Mr Marjoribanks was most recently head of audit & assurance for BDO Canada’s Greater Toronto area, leading a team of about 400 people.
He and his family have now returned to Scotland and he brings with him a wealth of leadership experience in growing an audit practice and deploying cutting-edge technology. He also has significant IFRS financial reporting experience.
Whilst located in Canada he held several volunteer board positions including chair of the Westside Recreation Centre, a not-for-profit society running a large sports facility in Calgary, and treasurer for the Alberta Scottish Business Association.
He was also appointed a Global Scot by the First Minister in 2016 in recognition of his ability to promote Scotland and Scottish businesses
