£3m hotel to be turned into hostel by new owner

A Glasgow hotel has changed hands for £3.15 million, with its new owner planning to convert it into a hostel.

The 52-bedroom Best Western Glasgow City Hotel, on Elmbank Street near Charing Cross railway station, will become new owner Safestay’s 15th hostel.

It is acquiring the freehold of the property, with completion of the deal expected on 21 October.

The property is freehold and generated revenues of £820,000 in the last 12 months.
