Troubled Goals puts itself up for sale amid financial probe

For sale: football company seeking a buyer

Troubled five-a-side football pitch operator, Goals Soccer Centres, which is part owned by retail tycoon Mike Ashley and is probing allegations over financial irregularities against two of its former executives, has put itself up for sale.

The East Kilbride based company said it has invited bids for the business and its assets.

The company said no final conclusions have been made regarding the investigations, but that it was clear that “inappropriate actions have taken place”.

Forever 21 ‘facing bankruptcy’

Fashion retailer Forever 21, which has stores in the UK, is preparing to file for bankruptcy, according to Bloomberg.

Sources said the US-based company was trying to restructure its debt, however talks with lenders had stalled.

A bankruptcy filing would help the firm shed unprofitable stores and recapitalise the business, it was reported.
