Exchange Plaza: prime asset

M&G Real Estate has acquired the 100,000 sq ft Exchange Plaza offices in Edinburgh from David Murray’s property investment company.

Exchange Plaza has been bought for £54 million on behalf of an international investor after being put on the market by Murray Capital, the investment arm of the Murray Family.

The building is the headquarters of oil and gas explorer Cairn Energy, law firm Burness Paull, with units let to All Bar One restaurant/bar group and the craft beer company BrewDog.

It is the latest addition to M&G’s prime commercial assets in the city following its purchase of the derelict four-acre Haymarket site from Interserve. Last year it also added 40 Torphichen Street, a 57,000sqft suite of refurbished offices.
