Staff laid off
Red Havas shuts Edinburgh office weeks after rebranding launch
UPDATE: A PR agency has closed its Edinburgh office just two months after it was included in a re-branding launch.
A spokesman for Red Havas confirmed a Daily Business report this morning that its office in Palmerston Place has shut and three staff have been laid off.
He said: “Our clients are looking for us to provide more content-first, merged media solutions across multiple channels. At the same time, their requirement for a dedicated Scottish press office service has significantly reduced. As a result we have restructured our Havas PR operations in the UK and this has impacted our Edinburgh office.
“Three members of staff are affected by the closure. Each one has been given the opportunity to explore other employment opportunities as part of newly-expanded PR brand we have created that is based in London and Manchester.”
The Edinburgh office of Havas was named in May along with the company’s outlets in Manchester and a new London office in a re-branding of the business as Red Havas. The Red Havas website yesterday only listed contact details for London and Manchester.
A statement at the time of the rebrand said Red Havas “will provide earned, social, experiential, content and data capabilities. In the UK, the move unites Havas PR’s existing offices in Manchester and Edinburgh with a new London office under the Red Havas brand. In the UK, Havas also owns One Green Bean, Maitland and Havas SE Cake, which are unaffected by the move.”
