Duncan takes chair at Salmon Producers Organisation

Atholl Duncan: former newsman

Atholl Duncan has been appointed chairman of the Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation (SSPO).

Mr Duncan, 55, is the former head of news and current affairs at BBC Scotland and is a former executive director of ICAS.

An INSEAD-qualified executive coach, he also works with senior corporate leaders in the Middle East, Europe and the USA to help them with their personal and business development.

He was recently appointed chairman of UK Coaching, the national body for sports coaches, and is a former chairman of the British Horseracing Authority.

Mr Duncan will take up his new post next month, replacing Gilpin Bradley, the managing director of Wester Ross Fisheries who took on the role of chairman on a temporary basis two years ago.
