Hey Girls gains Co-op listing with £50k from Big Issue Invest
It’s all at the Co-op: Celia Hodson with range of products
Sanitaryware company Hey Girls has secured £50,000 through a social enterprise fund to enable its products to be stocked in almost 200 Cooperative stores.
Hey Girls sells a full range of period items on a ‘buy one give one’ model – meaning for every pack purchased another is donated to a girl or woman in the UK in need.
The funding comes from the Big Issue Invest Power Up programme backed by Aberdeen Standard Investments, the University of Edinburgh, the Scottish Government, Brodies, Places for People and Experian. It aims to enable up to 20 Scottish social ventures to access loan funding of up to £50,000 over the next two years.
The unique programme brings together the public, private, third and academic sectors to mentor social enterprises and to open doors through cross sector networks.
Founded by Celia Hodson with the help of her two daughters, Kate and Becky, Hey Girls products are already listed in ASDA and Waitrose.
