Grant’s Oceanic Media in food technology partnership

Colin Grant: excited to partner BigDish


Oceanic Media, run by Scottish PR executive Colin Grant and business partner Irfan Younis, has agreed a partnership with stock market listed BigDish, a food technology company seeking to boost its presence in the restaurant sector.

BigDish, which operates a yield management platform for restaurants, will pay the Glasgow-based management company for rights to a number of Restaurant Awards run by associate company Oceanic.

Oceanic will promote BigDish via various marketing channels to more than 3,500 restaurants across the UK that receive nominations and to the thousands of people that nominate restaurants for awards.  BigDish will also receive introductions to finalists during the period leading up to each event and will be the exclusive restaurant booking platform sponsor at each event.

There are currently 16 events including the Pub Awards Scotland, the Scottish Asian Food Awards and the Scottish Curry Awards, as well as the London Asian Food Awards and Welsh Pub Awards.

BigDish CEO Sanj Naha said: “The partnership with Oceanic Media will support our national rollout with the introduction of thousands of great restaurants across the country to BigDish.”

Mr Grant said: “We’re very excited to partner BigDish on these 16 events. Our role will be to manage the media and marketing aspects of this relationship and assist BigDish to engage with its target audience.”

Oceanic clients include German Doner Kebab, Skwishee and Mayfair-based real estate agency CPIC. It has previously worked with Celtic FC, PG Paper and Fatburger in London and Dundee.
